Why do hotels host murder mysteries?

Most hotels find that there are periods in the yearly calendar where things are quiet. What is involved in hosting a murder mystery event?

EYE SPY aim to make the whole experience as easy as possible. 

On booking a weekend with us you will receive an extensive list of clients looking for an event to participate in. Over and above that, potential guests are in touch via these web pages or by telephone, looking for forthcoming events. If you book a weekend/evening, that information will be passed on verbally and through the EYE SPY web page and any forthcoming newspaper articles. You will be given photos and press releases should you need them for advertising purposes, a copy of our "Scottish Passport" video for Scottish Television which featured the company, and any other advice and support you should need.

How many guests can participate?

The number of guests attending your event is entirely up to you.. If you can sit everyone in your dining area in the one session then we will happily accommodate this. If it involves an overnight stay then the 6 actors need to be catered for with accommodation and food.

What is the format?

An evening event involves dinner  and then a session lasting approximately 2 hours. The session can take place in the dining area or be moved to another room should this be more suitable.

The weekend events can take place over either 2 or 3 sessions. The first session is always on the first evening after dinner. The sessions the following day are entirely up to the hotel to decide. We can fit in with other arrangements e.g. conferences, golfing weekends etc. The normal format chosen by hotels in the past for 2  sessions has been to have the second session after breakfast or lunch on the second day. In a 3  session weekend it is normal to have the second session after breakfast and the third after dinner on the second evening. This allows the guests to explore the surrounding area, shop, or relax and enjoy the facilities of the hotel.

Do we do company and corporate events? 

Yes! We can deal with the companies directly or the hotel can pass on relevant information. We try to cater for the companies individual needs and may need information on particular individuals, the work the company is involved in etc. Companies find these events great fun and  they are very successful at the end of conferences, team building events, or for an unusual Christmas party.
